Biography of Ural Latypov
Ural Latypov was born on February 28, 1951, in the village of Kataevo, Bakalinsky District, Bashkir ASSR. He graduated with distinction from the Law Faculty of Kazan State University named after V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin) and the Higher Courses of the KGB of the USSR in Minsk.
Early Career
From 1974 to 1989, Latypov served in the territorial bodies of the KGB of the USSR in various operational and managerial positions. In 1989, he became the Chief of the Department of Special Disciplines and Deputy Chief of the Institute of National Security of the Republic of Belarus for scientific work. During this time, he also achieved the rank of colonel in the reserves.
Political and Diplomatic Roles
In 1994, Latypov was appointed as an Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus, a position he held until December 1998. In December 1998, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Later, on November 27, 2000, by the decree of the President, he was appointed as the State Secretary of the Security Council and the Assistant to the President for National Security.
Academic Contributions
Latypov is a Doctor of Law, Professor, and author of several scientific works on international law. He is fluent in English and French.
