Valery Gataev is a Russian actor who has made a significant contribution to both theater and film. He started his acting career at the Tver Regional Drama Theater, where he performed in numerous plays from Russian and international classics. Early Career

Valery Gataev began his film career in the mid-1960s. However, it was his role as Frol Kurganov in the popular TV series "Shadows Disappear at Noon" (1971) that brought him widespread recognition and made him a household name. The character left a lasting impression on audiences and established Gataev as a promising young actor from Tver.

Following his success in "Shadows Disappear at Noon," Gataev went on to star in several historical and biographical films. In 1972, he portrayed Grigory Kotovsky in the film "The Last Haiduk," and in 1974, he played Georgy Sedov in the eponymous historical-biographical film.
