Early Life and Introduction

Valery Myagkov, a celebrated Russian handball player, was born on September 17, 1980, in Oha, Sakhalin Oblast. As a member of the exclusive group of elite Russian handballers, Myagkov has achieved recognition as a multiple medal winner at the Russian Championship and a participant in the 2008 Olympic Games.

Initiation into Handball

Myagkov's journey in professional handball commenced in 1990, when he resided in Krasnodar. Coached by V. Eliseev, he joined the SKIF club. His early success came in 1996 with a victory at the European Championship. In 1998, he participated in the World Youth Games in Moscow, where his exceptional skills led his team to first place.

International Success

Myagkov's international accomplishments include first-place finishes at the World University Championships in 1998 and 2000. In 2001, he claimed the same title at the World Junior Championships in Switzerland. In 2006, he attained another notable achievement as the Professional Handball League champion.

Olympic Experience

In 2008, Myagkov had the honor of representing Russia at the Beijing Olympics. While he aspired for a gold medal, he and the Russian team ultimately placed sixth.
