Early Life and Family
Vanessa Minnillo was born on an air force base in the Philippines to a Filipino mother and American father. Her parents divorced when Vanessa was young, and she and her brother moved to the United States with their father. Due to his military career, Vanessa frequently relocated and attended numerous schools throughout her childhood.
Pageant Success
In 1996, Vanessa began competing in beauty pageants. She won Miss South Carolina Teen USA and went on to become Miss Teen USA in 1998, marking the first victory for South Carolina in the competition. Vanessa also received the Miss Congeniality award.
Career in Television and Entertainment
From 2003 to 2007, Vanessa hosted MTV's Total Request Live. She also served as a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight from 2005 onwards. Additionally, she hosted Miss Teen USA in 2004 and co-hosted Miss Universe in 2007.
After leaving MTV and Entertainment Tonight, Vanessa ventured into modeling and appeared on the covers of magazines such as Maxim, Shape, and Lucky. She also made guest appearances in several television shows, including "That's Life," "City Girls," and "The Bold and the Beautiful."
Acting Roles
In addition to her hosting and modeling career, Vanessa has also acted in films and television shows. She had a small role in the series "How I Met Your Mother" in 2008 and starred in the film "Disaster Movie." She also appeared in an episode of the crime drama "Hawaii 5.0" in 2011.

Vanessa has been married to musician Nick Lachey since 2011. The couple met in 2006 and have three children together: Camden, Brooklyn, and Phoenix.
