Early Life and Education
Vahe Zakaryan was born into a prominent family in Armenia. As the younger brother of Vagharshak Zakaryan, he followed in his family's footsteps by pursuing a career in politics. In 2000, he graduated from the Yerevan Institute "Aybusak" with a degree in economics.
Military Service and Early Work Experience
Prior to his political career, Zakaryan completed his mandatory military service from 1979 to 1981. Upon his discharge, he held a variety of blue-collar jobs in Yerevan, including as an electrician-plumber, a worker at the Yerevan Silk Factory, a laborer at the Yerevan Library, and a repair electrician at the "Anush" production association.
Ascent in the Political Arena
In 1986, Zakaryan briefly worked in a color printing house before joining the "Anait" cooperative as a worker from 1988 to 1990. Subsequently, he returned to the "Anush" production association where he rose through the ranks to become the head of production from 1990 to 2000.
Parliamentary Career
Zakaryan's political career took off in 2000 when he was elected to the Armenian Parliament. He served as a member of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Issues and was a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA). Zakaryan's tenure in parliament marked a period of significant political and economic change in Armenia.
