Vera Korin (Véra Korène), whose real name was Rebecca Véra Korestzky, was a French actress of cinema and theater. She was born in Russia in 1901 to a Jewish family and fled the country with the arrival of the revolution. She found herself in France, where she embarked on a short but quite bright career as a film actress. However, Vera was also known as a theater actress.

Film Career
Vera made her debut in the French film "Son excellence le Bouif" in 1922. She disappeared from the screens for over a decade, only to reappear in 1933 in the film "La voix sans visage." From then on, her appearances in films became regular. She appeared in various films, including "La belle de nuit" in 1934 and "Les bateliers de la Volga" in 1935, where she starred alongside Pierre Blanchar. In 1936, Vera worked with director Pierre Billon in the films "Deuxième bureau" and "L'argent."
Later Career and Life
In 1937, Vera appeared in several French films, including "Double crime sur la ligne Maginot." Her last screen appearances were in the crime film "Café de Paris" in 1938 and the drama "La brigade sauvage" in 1939. After that, Vera stepped away from the screens but continued working as an actress on the stages of Parisian theaters. In the 1950s, she even established her own theater. From 1956 until 1978, Vera Korin served as the director of the Théâtre de la Renaissance.
Later Life and Death
Vera Korin lived a long life and passed away on November 19, 1996, in a nursing home in Louveciennes. She was buried in the Cimetière de Pantin in the Parisian suburb of Pantin.
