Early Life and Education

Sidse Ree Pedersen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on July 18, 1991, to Claus Risbjerg Jensen and Eunice Velásquez Zamora. She was an active member of the Danish Girl Scouts from 2001 to 2008.

From 2008 to 2011, Pedersen held various positions within the school council of Hvidovre Avedøre Gymnasium and the Danish Association of Upper Secondary School Students (DGS). She went on to pursue higher education at Roskilde University's Faculty of Humanities and Technology, where she earned a Master of Social Sciences (cand.soc.) in 2017. During her time at Roskilde, she served as a member and deputy chair of the faculty's Research Council.

Career and Political Involvement

Pedersen's career spans a diverse range of fields. She has held various positions with non-profit organizations, including Den Sociale Udviklingsfond (SUF) and HK Denmark. She also worked as a consultant for the National Association of Business School Students (LH), PROSA, and HK Denmark.

Pedersen's political activism began in 2014, and she has since taken on leadership roles in organizations such as Fremtidsfighters, Unge ta'r ansvar, and Stop Castor. She was a member of the national committee of the HK Ungdom youth trade union from 2015 to 2016. From 2016 to 2019, she served as a lay judge in the Copenhagen City Court.

Political Trajectory

Pedersen has been a member of the Red-Green Alliance since 2014, serving on the party's steering committee. She contested the 2014 Danish European Parliament election with the People's Movement against the EU. In 2015, she became a parliamentary candidate in the Funen constituency.

Pedersen was elected to the Folketing (Danish Parliament) in the 2019 parliamentary elections. She is currently a member of Denmark's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where she serves on the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination.
