Vidas Alunderis: From Lithuania to the World
Vidas Alunderis, a Lithuanian football player, has had a distinguished career spanning over two decades. Beginning his journey in Lithuania, he has played for several renowned clubs and represented his national team.
Early Years in Lithuania
Alunderis' footballing career commenced in Lithuania, where he played for Žalgiris-Volmeta, Atlantas, Žalgiris, and Ardena. His performances caught the attention of Ukrainian club Metalist Kharkiv, and he made the move in 2001.
Experience in Ukraine and Poland
In Ukraine, Alunderis made 33 appearances for Metalist. After a brief stint with Vetra in 2003, he returned to Atlantas in 2004. The same year, he joined Polish club Zagłębie Lubin on a 2.5-year contract.
Joining Tavriya
In 2008, Alunderis signed with Ukrainian club Tavriya Simferopol for a two-year term. He made his debut for the team in a goalless draw against Dnipro.
Transfer to Austria
Unable to secure regular playing time with Tavriya, Alunderis was transferred in 2009 to Austrian club LASK Linz. He signed a "1+2" contract with the team and enjoyed a successful spell there.
Return to Lithuania
After his time in Austria, Alunderis returned to Lithuania and played for FK Lietava Joniškis before retiring in 2014. He represented the Lithuanian national team on numerous occasions, making a significant contribution to his country's footballing history.
