Early Life and Education

Oleksandr Starukh was born in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine, in 1973. After completing his secondary education, he commenced his higher studies at the Zaporizhzhya State Engineering Academy in 1991, graduating in 1997.

Early Career

Starukh's initial work experience included seasonal agricultural labor and as a construction worker in 1990. In 2001, he founded and directed the company "Afganets" until 2005, when he joined "Postulat" as Director of Development.

Business and Industry

Starukh's involvement in business and industry began in 2003 when he became Chairman of the Board of "Rivne Domostroitelny Kombinat" (RDK) while concurrently serving as its Vice-Chairman. He subsequently held the position of Chairman of RDK from 2008 to 2011 and as Chairman of its Supervisory Board from 2011 to 2012. Over the years, he established a notable presence in the construction and industrial sector, owning stakes in RDK, "Volynferrometal," "Intertrade," and other companies.

Political Career

In September 2019, Starukh was appointed Head of the Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration (ZRSA) by the President's Office without a competitive selection process. He represented the newly appointed head of the region in place of President Volodymyr Zelensky, alongside Serhiy Trofimov, First Deputy Head of the President's Office. Starukh held this position until June 2020.

Personal Life

Starukh is married to Halyna, and they have two sons and a daughter.
