Early Life and Education
Vladimir Ivanovich Logvinenko was born on October 14, 1944, in the village of Novopidgorodne, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. He graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Civil Engineering Institute in 1974 with a degree in Industrial and Civil Construction.
Political Career
Logvinenko's political career began in 1974 as an instructor in the industrial-transport department of the Krasnoarmiysk City Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine. He held various positions within the regional administration, including Chairman of the Kramatorsk City Council (1984-1988) and Deputy and First Deputy Chairman of the Donetsk Oblast Council (1988-1992).
From 1994 to 1995, Logvinenko served as First Deputy Chairman of the Donetsk Oblast State Administration. He unsuccessfully ran for governor in 1994 but continued to work in the regional administration, holding positions as Deputy and First Deputy Chairman of the Donetsk Oblast Council (1992-1994 and 1995-1996).
Governorship of Donetsk Oblast
On May 16, 2006, Logvinenko was appointed as the Chairman of the Donetsk Oblast State Administration, a position he held until March 18, 2010. During his tenure, he oversaw significant economic and infrastructure development in the region.
Scientific Qualifications and Honors
Logvinenko received his doctorate in public administration in 2009 and was also a candidate of economic sciences (2006). He was awarded the title of "Honored Worker of Industry" in 2004 and received numerous other awards and honors, including the Order of St. Nestor the Chronicler (1998), the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology (2003), and the Order of Merit of the Russian Federation (2007).
Personal Life
Logvinenko is married to Tamara Alexandrovna Logvinenko. They have two children: Marina (a doctor and candidate of medical sciences) and Alexander (an economist and candidate of economic sciences). They also have three grandchildren: Ivan, Vladimir, and Stepan.
