Early Life and Education

Born in Rostov-on-Don, 1961

Viktor Protopopov was born in the city of Rostov-on-Don, Russia, in 1961. As a protégé of renowned artist Leonid Stukanov, he began his artistic journey under his mentorship.

Training and Academia

From 1978 to 1982, Protopopov studied at the Rostov Art College named after M.B. Grekov under the tutelage of V.I. Mamontov. In 1991, he graduated from the Leningrad Higher School of Art and Design named after V.I. Mukhina, specializing in Industrial Art.

Career in Russia

Design and Education in Rostov-on-Don

After graduating, Protopopov returned to Rostov-on-Don, where he worked as a designer in advertising agencies. Concurrently, he taught at the Academy of Architecture and Art and the Pedagogical University's Art and Graphics Faculty. From 1993 to 1996, he also worked as an advertising executive for the airline company "Donskiye Avialinii."

Teaching and Exhibitions

Protopopov continued to share his knowledge as a teacher of computer design at the Rostov Art College named after M.B. Grekov (1993-1995) and design at various art universities in Rostov-on-Don (1993-1996). His artistic talents were showcased in several solo exhibitions, including "V. Protopopov" (2001, Union of Designers Exhibition Hall) and "V. Protopopov" (2003, Family Medicine Center).

International Accomplishments

Residence and Teaching in China

In 2006, Protopopov relocated to China, where he has resided ever since. He currently teaches painting and drawing at the Faculty of Arts, Linyi University, in Shandong Province. His artistic journey continued to unfold internationally with solo exhibitions such as:
