Vyacheslav Bohuslayev: A Ukrainian Industrial and Political Icon
Early Life and CareerVyacheslav Oleksandrovych Bohuslayev, born on July 25, 1938, in the village of Krasnopillya, Chernihiv Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union, is a prominent Ukrainian industrialist, public figure, and politician.
Bohuslayev's journey began with humble beginnings. After completing his secondary education, he worked as an assistant machinist at the K. Voroshilov Plant and as a mechanic in Ural'sk. Following his military service in the Soviet Army, he relocated to Zaporizhzhia in 1961 and joined the Zaporizhzhia Engine-Building Plant, where he honed his skills as an engineer and department head.
Ascension at Motor Sich
In 1973, Bohuslayev's career took a significant turn when he became the Director of the Volodymyr Mechanical Plant. His exceptional leadership led him to various senior management positions, including General Director of the plant's association and, ultimately, the General Director of Motor Sich in 1991.
The Motor Sich Legacy
As the head of Motor Sich, a leading manufacturer of engines for aircraft and helicopters, Bohuslayev oversaw the company's transformation into a global industry giant. Under his guidance, Motor Sich exported its products to over 100 countries worldwide. In recognition of his contributions, Bohuslayev was appointed the company's Honorary President in 2013.

Bohuslayev was elected to the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) as a member of the Party of Regions, serving from 2006 to 2014. He held various positions, including Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Security and Defense and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Industrial and Investment Policy.
Current Role
Following his parliamentary career, Bohuslayev continues to be an active figure in Ukrainian society. He is the Honorary President of Motor Sich, a member of the Board of the Ukrainian Culture Fund, and an Honorary Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine. He also holds honorary doctorates from the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" and the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University.

He is a Hero of Ukraine, a recipient of the Order of Merit, and has received various other awards both in Ukraine and internationally.
