Biography of Vyacheslav Voloshin

Vyacheslav Voloshin is a Ukrainian scientist, professor, and the head of the Department of Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection at the Priazov State Technical University. He has been serving as the rector of the Priazov State Technical University since 2003.

Early Life and Education

Vyacheslav Voloshin was born in 1952. He completed his studies at the Zhdanov Metallurgical Institute in 1975 and later pursued his postgraduate studies at the same institution, earning his degree in 1979.

Career and Achievements

Voloshin began his career at the Priazov State Technical University (formerly known as the Zhdanov Metallurgical Institute) in 1979 as a junior research fellow. He then held positions as an assistant (1984-1988), associate professor (1988-1990), professor (1990-1992), dean of the Energy Faculty (1992-1994), and head of the Department of Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection (since 1994). He also served as the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs from 1995 to 2003 before becoming the rector of the Priazov State Technical University.

Voloshin successfully defended his candidate dissertation in 1983 and obtained his doctoral degree in 1991. His research interests revolve around the environmental safety of industrial regions, protection of the natural environment, conservation of the coastal zones of the Azov Sea, and radiological safety of coastal areas. He played a significant role in developing a system for protecting against thermal radiation during the maintenance of metallurgical equipment. Voloshin's initiatives led to the establishment of the Institute of Ecology of the Azov Sea at the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Azov Scientific Research Environmental Station.

Vyacheslav Voloshin is a member of the specialized council for the defense of doctoral dissertations at the Zaporizhzhia Industrial Institute. He has authored over 160 scientific publications, including three monographs, 120 articles, and 39 inventions.
