Early Life and Education

Vichi Hassan was born in 1955 in Tripoli, Libya. The turbulent political climate in the city forced his family to relocate to Rome, Italy when he was only 11 years old. In the 1970s, Hassan attended a college in Milan, where he developed a passion for art. After graduating with a degree in languages, he pursued a career in sales at various boutiques in Rome.

A Journey into Fashion

As Hassan gained experience, he ascended to the role of store manager and eventually established his own small shop. The boutique specialized in rare and stylish clothing items not widely available. Its success led Hassan to open a larger store, "Energie," in 1983. The store quickly became a hotspot for artists and fashion designers. Hassan employed talented individuals who showcased their work and designed window displays.

The Birth of Miss Sixty

Dissatisfied with the clothing options available at the time, Hassan ventured into designing his own clothing line. His first collection was heavily influenced by ethnic motifs, particularly Mexican, and featured denim as the primary fabric. A chance encounter with Renato Rossi, a former engineer and entrepreneur, proved to be a pivotal moment in Hassan's career. Their partnership gave birth to "Miss Sixty," a fashion brand that merged Hassan's creativity with Rossi's business acumen.

Unparalleled Success and Legacy

Miss Sixty achieved instant recognition and dominance in the fashion industry. Not content with their success, Hassan and Rossi launched "Energie" in 1989, which became the first in a series of sub-labels under the Miss Sixty umbrella. Each of these ventures achieved significant success, reflecting the exceptional synergy between Hassan and Rossi.

A Tragic End

Vichi Hassan courageously battled cancer in his later years, but the disease claimed his life on December 16, 2011. At the time of his passing, he was 56 years old. Hassan left behind an indelible mark on the fashion world, known as the "creative half" of Miss Sixty. His legacy as a visionary designer continues to inspire and influence aspiring fashion professionals.
