William DuVall is an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the band "Alice in Chains." He joined the band following the death of Lane Staley. DuVall is also the founder, vocalist, guitarist, and lyricist of the band Comes With The Fall.
Early Career
DuVall began his performances in the early 1980s in Atlanta, Georgia, with the hardcore band "Awareness Void of Chaos." In 1983, he became one of the organizers of the controversial hardcore band "Neon Christ" in Atlanta, where he performed as a lyricist and guitarist. The band had a strong resemblance to the hardcore scene luminaries Corrosion of Conformity and Bl'ast. After several tours along the East Coast and the release of two albums, the politically-charged band began to gain popularity. They also participated in numerous charitable events. The band disbanded in 1986, reuniting for a single concert on December 24, 2004.
Joining Alice in Chains
Following the disbandment of Neon Christ, DuVall joined the iconic rock band "Alice in Chains" in 2006. He took over as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist after the passing of Lane Staley. DuVall's addition to the band brought a fresh energy and helped revive their career.
