Biography of Di Wu
Di Wu, a Chinese tennis player, was born on September 14, 1991, in Wuhan, Hubei, China. He started playing tennis at the age of six and turned professional in 2007.
Tennis Career
In singles, Di reached his highest ranking of 176th in the world according to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on October 1, 2012. In doubles, he achieved his highest ranking of 355th on January 31, 2011. Currently, he holds the 714th position in doubles.
One of Di's most memorable performances in his career took place at the Davis Cup in 2011. He defeated Lu Yen-hsun, a top Asian player ranked 37th in the world at that time.
Di also participated in the 2012 Hopman Cup alongside China's top female tennis player, Li Na. In the men's playoff final of the Asia-Pacific Australian Open Wildcard, he emerged victorious against Thai player Danai Udomchoke. This victory earned Di the opportunity to compete in the main draw of the Australian Open in 2013. Along the way, he defeated Yuichi Sugita from Japan and his fellow countryman Zhang Ze.
