Early Life and Club Career
Born in Costa Rica, Yendrick Ruiz is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for Herediano and the Costa Rican national team. His elder brother, Bryan, is also a professional footballer.
Ruiz began his career with Alajuelense in 2006. He made his debut in the Costa Rican league on November 12 in a match against Deportivo Santacruceña. In 2010, he was loaned out to Brujas to gain playing experience.
Breakthrough at Puntarenas and Herediano
After returning from his loan spell, Ruiz struggled to break into Alajuelense's starting lineup. In the summer of 2011, he joined Puntarenas. He scored his first goal for the club in his debut match against Herediano on July 31.
In 2012, Ruiz moved to Herediano. He scored his first goal for the club on September 3 against Cartaginés. In 2013, he helped Herediano win the Costa Rican championship.
International Career
Ruiz made his international debut for Costa Rica on May 29, 2013 in a friendly against Canada. He was included in the national team squad for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, where he played in matches against Honduras, Cuba, and Belize.
