Yehudit Wohl was born in Israel to Bessarabian immigrants. She studied painting at the Tel Aviv Academy of Art from 1961 to 1962.
Literary Career
Yehudit Wohl burst onto the literary scene in 1964 with the publication of her first poem. Two years later, in 1966, she debuted her first book of poetry, entitled "Words" (Hebrew: מילים).
Wohl's work became associated with the avant-garde movement led by Meir Wieseltier. Her poetry was lauded for its experimentalism and exploration of language.
