Early Life and Military CareerHenri Bouquet, a Swiss by birth, was born in Rolle, Canton of Vaud. He rose to prominence in the French army after defying the oppressive rule of the Bernese aristocracy over his hometown. Bouquet's military career began with the siege of Toulon, where he distinguished himself.
Italian Campaign and Demise
During the Italian campaign of 1796, Bouquet excelled in several battles. However, his promising military career was cut short when he was killed in an advance skirmish near Lodi. Bouquet's untimely death robbed France of a talented and promising general.
