Andreas Ambühl, Swiss Hockey Star
Andreas Ambühl is a Swiss professional ice hockey player who currently plays for ZSC Lions in the National League (NL) and the Swiss national team.
Early Career at Davos
Born and raised in Switzerland, Ambühl began his hockey career with HC Davos. As a youth player, he impressed with 41 points in 31 games during the 2000/01 season. He made his debut for Davos' senior team in the following season and quickly established himself as a key player.
Success at Davos
Over the next nine seasons, Ambühl became a pivotal member of Davos, contributing to numerous team successes. Notably, he scored the game-winning goal in the 2006 Spengler Cup final against Team Canada, securing a 3-2 victory for Davos.
NHL Opportunity and Return to Switzerland
In 2009, Ambühl signed with the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). However, he spent the entire 2009/10 season with the Rangers' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack.
ZSC Lions and National Team Honors
In 2010, Ambühl returned to Switzerland and joined ZSC Lions. He has since become a mainstay for the Lions, winning multiple NL championships. Internationally, Ambühl has represented Switzerland at the World Championships, helping the team earn a silver medal in 2013.
