Early Life and Career
Jason Arnott was born in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada, and began his hockey career with the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). In the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, the Edmonton Oilers selected Arnott with the seventh overall pick.
NHL Career
Edmonton OilersArnott made his NHL debut with the Oilers during the 1993-1994 season and quickly established himself as a rising star. He was named Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the NHL All-Rookie Team.
New Jersey Devils
After a successful stint in Edmonton, Arnott was traded to the New Jersey Devils in 1999. In 2000, he played a pivotal role in the Devils' Stanley Cup victory, scoring the game-winning goal in double overtime in Game 6.
Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators
Arnott spent several seasons with the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators, serving as captain of the latter from 2007 to 2010. He was selected to participate in the NHL All-Star Game in 1997 and 2008.
Later Years and Return to New Jersey
Arnott was traded back to the New Jersey Devils in 2010 and then to the Washington Capitals in 2011. He ended his playing career with the St. Louis Blues in 2013.
Post-Playing Career
Following his retirement as a player, Arnott transitioned into a scouting role with the St. Louis Blues. He currently serves as one of their amateur scouts.
