Biography of a Revolutionary and Activist
Early Life and Revolutionary ActivitiesInvolvement in Revolutionary Movement
From 1911, she actively participated in the revolutionary movement as a member of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP).
Political Leadership
During the February Revolution of 1917, she became a deputy of the first Moscow Soviet. She played a crucial role during the October Revolution as the secretary of the Moscow Military Revolutionary Committee.
Proletkult and Education
In 1918, she headed the Cultural Education Department of the Moscow Soviet. From 1920 to 1932, she served as the chairwoman of the Moscow Proletkult and a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Proletkult.
Academic and Professional Career
From 1932 onwards, she pursued postgraduate studies and engaged in scientific research and teaching. In the 1930s, she held the position of scientific secretary at the Psychological Institute.
Later Roles and Legacy
She held leadership positions in the International Organization for Aid to Revolutionaries (MOPR) and the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences. Her burial site is the prestigious Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.
Family
Her cousin was the famous Soviet aviator Valentin Sergeyevich Pereletov.
