Early Life and Career
Born on August 3, 1964, in Saint-Malo, France, Annick Girardin began her political career in 1983, working for the local government of the overseas community of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. In 1999, she joined the Radical Left Party and became a member of the Territorial Council of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon in 2000.
Political Career
In 2007, Girardin was elected to the French National Assembly, representing Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. In 2014, she joined the French government as State Secretary for Francophony. She was appointed Minister of State Reform in 2016 and Minister of Overseas Territories in 2017.
