Hildegarde Helene Katrine Margrethe née Schmidt was born on April 15, 1957, in Copenhagen, Denmark. She pursued higher education at the University of Copenhagen, where she specialized in history and literature.
Political Career in Denmark
In 1984, Margrethe Vestager embarked on her political career by successfully securing a seat in the Danish parliament, serving as a representative of the Danish Social Liberal Party. However, her tenure was short-lived as she failed to secure re-election in 1990.
