Egor Chernev: A Leader in Ukrainian Politics and Innovation
Early Life and EducationEgor Chernev was born on February 5, 1985, in Berdyansk, Ukraine. He earned a Master's degree in Corporate Economics from the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman in 2008. In 2018, he graduated with a Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from King's Business School, King's College London, UK.
Entrepreneurial Career
In 2007, Chernev became the General Director of New Media Projects, a telecommunications and IT company. In 2012, he joined Starlight Digital Sales as its General Director, where he led the company for a year. In 2013, he left both companies to establish Wanna, a startup specializing in collecting and analyzing data from social networks.
Military and Civic Service
With the outbreak of the Donbas conflict in 2014, Chernev volunteered for the National Guard of Ukraine and served on the front lines. After his military service, he developed proposals for the government to stimulate innovation and industry 4.0, which were incorporated into the government's "Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy and Society of Ukraine for 2018-2020." In September 2018, he founded the public organization "INNOVATIVE NATION."
Political Career
In 2019, Chernev was elected to the Ukrainian Parliament as a non-partisan member of the "Servant of the People" party. He served as the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence. He also chaired the subcommittee on Digital Economy, Innovative Development, and Electronic Business. In October 2022, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence.
International Representation and Advocacy
Chernev is the Head of the Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. He is also the Deputy Head of the Inter-Factional Association "Free Markiv." Additionally, he serves as Deputy Head of the Inter-Factional Group for Friendship with the Italian Republic.
