Evgeniy Kopko: A Ukrainian Goalkeeper in Poland

Early Years

Evgeniy Kopko is a Ukrainian footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for the Polish club Zagłębie Lubin. Born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, he began his footballing journey at the age of 8 with the DYuSSh-15 youth academy.

Career Start in Ukraine

Kopko joined Dynamo Kyiv's academy in 2003 and spent the next four years honing his skills with the club's U-19, U-21, and reserve teams. He made 8 appearances for the reserve team before leaving Kyiv in 2007.

Move to Poland

After a brief trial with Vorskla Poltava in Ukraine, Kopko moved to Poland in July 2007 and signed with Zagłębie Sosnowiec. He made his Ekstraklasa debut for the club on October 27, 2007, in a 2-1 victory over Zagłębie Lubin.

Switch to Zagłębie Lubin

In the summer of 2008, Kopko transferred to Zagłębie Lubin, where he has remained ever since. He has established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper and has played a key role in their success in recent seasons.

Honors and Achievements

With Zagłębie Lubin, Kopko has won the Polish Cup in 2018 and the Polish Super Cup in 2018 and 2019. He has also helped the club qualify for the UEFA Europa League on multiple occasions.
