American Rock Band: Falling in Reverse
Foundation (2008-2010)Falling in Reverse was formed in 2008 by Ronnie Radke, who had been expelled from Escape the Fate due to legal issues. In 2006, Radke was involved in a fight that resulted in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Cook. Although Radke did not fire the gun, he was convicted of manslaughter. This incident, along with Radke's struggles with substance abuse, led to his sentencing to 2 years in prison in 2008.
Debut Album: "The Drug in Me Is You" (2011-2012)
Following Radke's release from prison in 2010, the band began actively performing under the name Falling in Reverse, as their previous name, From Behind These Walls, was met with copyright infringement claims. The initial lineup included Radke, bassist Nason Schoeffler, guitarist Jacky Vincent, and rhythm guitarist Derek Jones. Ryan Seaman later replaced Scott Gee as the drummer.
In January 2010, the band began recording their debut album. They signed with Epitaph Records, the same label Radke had worked with as a member of Escape the Fate. The album, titled "The Drug in Me Is You," was released on July 26, 2011, and featured 11 tracks. The lead single, "The Drug in Me Is You," was released on June 28, 2011, and accompanied by a music video. The album sold 18,000 copies in its first week in the US and debuted at number 19 on the Billboard 200.
Second Album: "Fashionably Late" (2012-2014)
Falling in Reverse's second album, "Fashionably Late," was released on June 18, 2013. Max Green, formerly of Escape the Fate, replaced Ron Ficarro on bass during the album's recording. The band toured on the Warped Tour in the summer of 2014, and Green departed the band shortly after.
Third Album: "Just Like You" and Departure of Jacky Vincent (2014-2016)
Falling in Reverse's third album, "Just Like You," was released on February 24, 2015. It featured Zac Sandler (formerly of Black Tide) as the session bassist for the album's supporting tour, who later became an official member. Jacky Vincent left the band in October 2015 to focus on his solo career, and Christian Thompson (formerly of The Hollowed and Jovian) took over as lead guitarist.
Fourth Album: "Coming Home" and Departure of Ryan Seaman (2016-2018)
The band's fourth studio album, "Coming Home," was released on April 7, 2017. Rumors circulated that drummer Ryan Seaman had parted ways with the group, which was confirmed by the appearance of a session drummer at subsequent shows. The band embarked on a tour of Russia in February 2018, their first visit to the country.
New Music, Lineup Changes, and the Death of Derek Jones (2018-present)
Falling in Reverse released the single "Losing My Mind" in February 2018. Lead guitarist Christian Thompson tore his rotator cuff during the band's US tour in March 2018 and announced his departure from the band in April.
The band debuted the single "Losing My Life" in June 2018, which featured a new lineup with Max Georgiev on lead guitar, Tyler Burgess on bass, Zac Sandler on keyboards, and Brandon Richter on drums. They performed their final year on the Vans Warped Tour before embarking on an acoustic tour.
In April 2019, the band released the single "Drugs" featuring Christian "CC" Coma (Black Veil Brides) on drums. Zakk Sandler's absence from the video led to speculation about his departure, but Ronnie Radke later clarified that he was still a member of the group.
On April 21, 2020, guitarist Derek Jones passed away at the age of 35. The band released the previously unreleased track "Carry On" in July 2020, and an alternative version of "I'm Not a Vampire" in February 2021.
