Academic and Legal Career
In 1989, Bartkus graduated from the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University. His pursuit of higher education continued with study stints at the University of Helsinki and the University of Aalborg. Since 1989, he has been a dedicated lecturer in civil, commercial, and business law at Vilnius University's Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure.
Ministerial Role
From October 27, 2000, to June 20, 2001, Bartkus served as Minister of Justice in the government led by Rolandas Paksas. His tenure was marked by his expertise in legal matters and his unwavering commitment to the proper administration of justice.
Legal Practice
After his ministerial role, Bartkus joined the law firm Jurevičius, Balčiūnas ir Bartkus in 2004. In 2011, he became a partner at Baltic Legal Solutions Lietuva, where he continues to provide legal counsel and representation to clients across various sectors.
