Early Life and Education

Born in Odessa, the Israeli politician began his education at a heder (Jewish religious school). In 1924, he immigrated to Palestine (Eretz-Israel) and pursued higher education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Kibbutz Movement and Zionist Activism

As a dedicated kibbutznik, he co-founded Kibbutz Givat Brenner near Rehovot and later moved to Kibbutz Netzer Sereni. He actively participated in the Kibbutz Hameuchad movement. He also represented the HeHalutz movement in Germany and Poland.

Military Service and Political Engagement

During World War II, he served in the Jewish Brigade, part of the Allied forces. He edited the frontline newspaper The Soldier and Brigade journal HaMa'avak. As a member of the Mapai party (Mifleget Poalei Eretz Yisrael), he was elected to the first Knesset (Israeli parliament) in 1949 and re-elected in 1951.

Literary and Educational Contributions

In 1959, he published a book. Later in his career, he was elected director of Beit Berl College in Kfar Saba, which was established in 1970.
