Biography of Igor Ishchenko
Igor Ishchenko is a Ukrainian football referee of FIFA category. Born in Ukraine, he has been working as a referee since 1989. Currently, he serves as the director of the Referee School in the Football Federation of Kyiv. He is the son of Ukrainian football coach Grigory Ishchenko and is married with a son and two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys skiing.
Career
Igor Ishchenko began his career as a referee in 1989, officiating matches in amateur regional leagues. In the year 2000, he earned the FIFA referee category. Throughout his career, he has officiated in 186 matches in the top league.
Notable Matches
On August 20, 2003, Igor Ishchenko refereed a friendly match between Russia and Israel, which ended with a score of 1-2 in favor of Israel. Another notable match he officiated was on March 28, 2009, during the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup, where Germany defeated Liechtenstein with a score of 4-0. On June 9, 2009, he also officiated a friendly match between Azerbaijan and Spain as part of the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup.
