Biography of Jakub Petruzalek
Jakub Petruzalek is a Czech ice hockey player who currently plays as a forward for the KHL team Amur Khabarovsk. He was born on March 25, 1985, in Litvinov, Czech Republic.

Early Career
Petruzalek began his professional career in 2002 as a member of his hometown club, HC Litvinov, in the Czech Extraliga. Prior to that, he played for the club's farm team. In 2004, he was selected by the New York Rangers in the 9th round, 266th overall, in the NHL Draft. He then moved to North America to play for the Ottawa 67's in the Ontario Hockey League, who had chosen him in the 1st round, 22nd overall, in the Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
NHL and European Career
In the 2004/05 season, Petruzalek joined the Ottawa Senators in the NHL, where he recorded 81 points (31 goals and 50 assists) in 80 games. However, he returned to HC Litvinov for the following season, but only played 19 games before deciding to go back to North America. He then played for the Barrie Colts in the OHL before moving on to various teams in lower North American leagues such as the Charlotte Checkers and the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Petruzalek signed with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2008 and played for their AHL affiliate, the Albany River Rats, until 2009. During this time, he also made two appearances in the NHL, earning one assist. In May 2009, Petruzalek returned to Europe and signed with Lukko in the Finnish SM-liiga. He spent two seasons with the team, accumulating 99 points (46 goals and 53 assists) in 121 games.
Current Career
On May 6, 2011, Petruzalek signed with Amur Khabarovsk in the KHL, where he continues to play to this day. He has also represented the Czech Republic in international competitions, including the World Junior Championship in 2003 and the World U20 Championship in 2005, where he won a bronze medal. He has also played for the Czech national team in the Euro Hockey Tour, earning two goals in three games during the 2011/12 season.
Throughout his career, Petruzalek has achieved bronze medals in the World U20 Championship and the Finnish SM-liiga. He is known for his scoring ability and has been a valuable asset to the teams he has played for.
