John Barrasso is a Republican politician serving as a United States Senator from the state of Wyoming.

Early Life and Education

Barrasso was born on July 21, 1952, in Reading, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Georgetown University in 1974 and went on to earn a medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1978.

Political Career

Barrasso entered politics in 2002, when he was appointed to the U.S. Senate to fill the vacancy created by the death of Craig Thomas. He has been re-elected to the Senate three times since then, most recently in 2018.

Committee Assignments

During his tenure in the Senate, Barrasso has served on several important committees, including the Committee on Environment and Public Works, the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, and the Committee on Veterans' Affairs. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
