Early Career and Breakthrough at EspanyolJordi Amat, a Spanish footballer, began his career in the youth academy of Espanyol. On January 24, 2010, he made his debut for the senior team as a substitute against Mallorca. By the end of the season, he had featured in six matches, starting in four. In the 2010/11 campaign, Amat solidified his role, playing in 28 matches, including 24 starts, for Espanyol in the league and cup competitions.
Loan Spell at Rayo Vallecano
In 2012, Amat was loaned out to Rayo Vallecano. He made his debut on August 20, 2012, against Granada. Amat started the match but was replaced by Mikel Labaka in the second half. On February 24, 2013, he scored his first professional goal against Valladolid, just a minute after an own goal.
Transfer to Swansea City
