Jozo Križanović
Jozo Križanović was a Bosnian politician who served as the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from June 2001 to February 2002.
Early Life and Political Career
Born in Bugojno, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Križanović entered politics in the 1990s. He was a member of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), the dominant Bosniak political party at the time.
Chairman of the Presidency
In March 2001, Križanović replaced Ante Jelavić as the Croatian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Jelavić had been removed from office by Wolfgang Petritsch, the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Križanović served as Chairman of the Presidency for the next eight months.
Election Defeat and Later Life
In the 2002 elections, Beriz Belkić was elected as the new Bosniak member of the Presidency. Križanović's term came to an end in February 2002.
After leaving office, Križanović retired from politics. He died in Zagreb, Croatia, on December 2, 2009, at the age of 66, from complications following surgery.
