Education and Early Career

Armenian statesman and public figure, he obtained his degree in Philology from Yerevan State University from 1975 to 1980. Subsequently, he worked as an Armenian language and literature teacher from 1980 to 1985 in Akhaltsikhe.

Journalistic Career

In 1988-1989, he served as a correspondent for the newspaper "Kerpasagorts". In 1991, he became a member of the Journalists' Union. From 1989 to 2001, he held the role of editor for the publicistic and literary departments of the magazine "Garun". In 2000, he established and became the editor-in-chief of the literary journal "Drama".

Political Career

From 2001 to 2004, he served as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Grakan tert". Subsequently, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs of Armenia from 2004 to 2007. Since June 2007, he has held the position of Deputy Minister of Culture of Armenia.
