Early Life and Education

Kozy-Korpesh Zhamburchin was born on July 2, 1960, in the village of Zharkamys in Kazakhstan's Aktobe region. His father, Janbyrshin Esim Kusainovich, was a prominent party worker, while his mother, Janbyrshina Kanshayym Bolatovna, was a dedicated teacher.

Zhamburchin excelled in his studies and graduated in 1982 from Moscow's Institute of Economic Statistics with a degree in Mathematical Economics. In 1990, he completed his postgraduate studies at the same institution.

Professional Career

Zhamburchin began his career in 1982 as an engineer at the Kazakh SSR's Gosplen Institute. He quickly rose through the ranks, serving as an economist and senior economist at Gosplen from 1983 to 1987.

In 1991, he joined the State Committee of Economics of the Republic of Kazakhstan as a senior specialist. Zhamburchin played a key role in shaping Kazakhstan's early economic policies, advising the President and holding various high-level positions, including Deputy Head of the Council of Economic Consultants (1993-1994) and National Director of the European Commission's Bureau in Kazakhstan (1994-1995).

Municipal and Government Leadership

From 1995 to 2003, Zhamburchin served as Chairman of the Committee on Economics of the city of Almaty. His innovative policies and leadership skills earned him the promotion to Deputy Mayor of Almaty, a position he held from 1997 to 2003.

Zhamburchin's expertise in economic affairs and national security led to his appointment as Deputy Minister of Defense for Economics and Finance (2003-2007) and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2007-2009). In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in safeguarding the country's economic and national interests.

Chairmanship of the Audit Committee

In 2014, Zhamburchin was appointed as Chairman of the Audit Committee for Control over the Execution of the Republican Budget. He served in this capacity until his untimely passing in 2017.

Recognition and Legacy

Throughout his illustrious career, Zhamburchin received numerous honors and awards, including the Order of Kurmet (2005), the Order of Barys 3rd degree (2012), and several medals. He was a respected scholar with a doctorate in economics, authoring a seminal dissertation on "Heterogeneous Socio-Economic Systems: Theory and Methodology of Strategic Management."
