Biography of Leonard Orr
Leonard Orr, the founder of rebirthing, was born in 1938 in Walton, near New York, USA. From a young age, he was raised in a devout Christian household and developed a deep love for the church and faith in Jesus. After attending seminary school with the intention of becoming a preacher, Leonard spent a lot of time with his own thoughts, trying to think independently and often interpreting biblical teachings differently from prescribed moralities.
This led to conflicts with his teachers, and Leonard was even at risk of being expelled from the seminary. Realizing that he thought differently, Leonard Orr began developing his own concept of faith. He extensively read books on Tibetan yogis, folk medicine, and meditation, gaining insights from these diverse sources.
Over time, Orr came to believe that every person is born with a certain "trauma" that they need to overcome. Using the methodology he developed, it became possible to restore a person's thoughts to the moment they were in the womb. Based on his teachings, Leonard Orr founded the first official rebirthing center, named "Theta House."
Orr's theory is based on a particular breathing technique through which a person enters a trance-like state. During his work on this theory, Leonard Orr traveled extensively to India, Tibet, and China, where he met esteemed yoga teachers. He claims to have personally known the immortal yogi, Haidakhan Babaji, and other immortals.
Leonard Orr has written several books, including "The Physical Immortality" in 1988, which did not receive the expected recognition. However, he continued to passionately promote his theories to the masses. In 1995, he released another book entitled "Babaji: Angel of the Lord." He is also the author of "Thirsting for Death," "Fire - The Ultimate Healer," and "Quit the Habit of Dying."
In his works, Leonard Orr suggests that people should try purification through fire, water, and air. He firmly believes that many people live their lives incorrectly and that human death is simply a habit that needs to be overcome. He is absolutely convinced that people can live for thousands of years and that only lack of interest and boredom can cause them to die.
