Biography of Lee Han Dong

Lee Han Dong, the current Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, was born in 1934. He served in the army and later obtained a legal education from the prestigious Seoul National University. Lee has a vast experience in politics, economics, and administration, having been elected five times to the parliament and holding the position of Minister of Internal Affairs.

Political Career

In the modern history of South Korea, it is hard to find a politician who has achieved such a rapid ascent as Lee Han Dong. In January, he emerged as one of the most prominent leaders of the opposition party in the country. However, he later switched to the United Liberal Democrats, following the wave of criticism against President Kim Dae Jung. This move also resulted in his departure from the quiet harbor of the ruling party alliance. In May, he became the head of the government, fulfilling Kim Dae Jung's promise to appoint a representative of the United Liberal Democrats as the Prime Minister.

Personal Life

Lee Han Dong is married and has three children. His son is currently studying in the United States, while one daughter works as a teacher and the other is a homemaker. He enjoys playing golf and every morning he climbs the nearby mountain instead of going for a run or doing physical exercises. Lee spends his free time reading books and prefers grape wine as his choice of drink.
