Early Life and Education

Lilia Hrynevych was born into a family of teachers in Lviv, Ukraine. She graduated from School No. 70 and earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry-teaching from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in 1989. She subsequently obtained a second bachelor's degree in economics-management from the Inter-Industry Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining at Lviv Polytechnic Institute in 1993.

Hrynevych also pursued internships at the University of Warsaw and Columbia University. She completed her PhD dissertation in 2005, researching decentralization trends in Polish education. She is proficient in English and Polish.
