Magnus Jakob Crusenstolpe was a prominent Swedish writer and journalist. Born in 1788, he began his career as a publicist extolling the "age of liberty" in Sweden (1719-1772) in his 1828 work, "Politiska asigter."

He later shifted his political stance, supporting the government in his newspaper "Fäderneslandet." However, he reverted to his liberal ideals in later works.
