Early Life and Career
Maycon is a Brazilian football forward who was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. He began his professional career with Fluminense in 2007, scoring his first goal for the club in 2009.
Move to Lokomotiv Moscow
In March 2010, Maycon joined Lokomotiv Moscow for a transfer fee of 4 million euros. He made his debut for the club in a match against Krylia Sovetov on March 20 and scored his first goal for the team against Amkar Perm on May 15.
Success in Moscow
Maycon spent seven years with Lokomotiv Moscow, establishing himself as a key player and fan favorite. He scored his first goal in European competition against Spartak Trnava in August 2011.
Departure from Lokomotiv
On June 16, 2017, Maycon moved to Turkish club Antalyaspor, signing a three-year contract. He later joined Atletico Mineiro in Brazil in January 2019 and then went on to play for Buriram United in Thailand from December 2020 to May 2021.
International Career
Maycon represented Brazil at the under-20 level and played in the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where Brazil finished second. He scored two crucial goals in the quarterfinals against Germany, helping his team advance to the semifinals.
Personal Life
Maycon has been known for his religious beliefs and has attended an evangelical Christian church in Moscow, leading his former CSKA Moscow teammate Mario Fernandes to the same church.
