Birth of "neAngely"
In 2006, amidst the gradual dissolution of the popular Ukrainian trio "VIA Gra," a new pop group emerged: "neAngely." Producer Yuri Nikitin sought to fill the void left by "VIA Gra" and create a fresh, Ukrainian-influenced band that would appeal to a wide audience.

The Trio's Inception
The group was formed with two talented singers: Viktoria from Kharkiv and Slava from Odessa. Their debut album, "Number One," achieved Gold status and marked the beginning of their successful career.

Embracing New Identities
The members went by stage names: Viktoria became "Vika" and Olga Kuzovtseva became "Slava." These names became so iconic that even their mothers began using them. To solidify their new identities, Vika and Slava officially changed their legal names to match their stage personas.
Pre-neAngely Beginnings
Before joining "neAngely," Vika (real name Yekaterina Smeyukha) had appeared on the Ukrainian TV show "Chance." Slava had participated in the reality show "Island of Temptation," hosted by Russian actor Vladislav Galkin.
Playboy Debut
A mere month after their formation, the group made a bold statement by gracing the cover of the July issue of Playboy magazine.
Album Success
Their debut album, "Number One" (2006), was a critical and commercial success, establishing "neAngely" as a force in Ukrainian pop music.
