Early Life and Artistic InfluencesNicolas Bedos was born into a family of entertainers in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, on April 21, 1979. His father, Guy Bedos, was a renowned comedian, and his mother, Maria Berco, was a dancer. Influenced by his artistic upbringing, Bedos developed a passion for drawing and music at a young age.
Writing and Stage Debut
After a brief stint as a secretary at Canal+ TV, Bedos found solace in writing during a period of depression. He collaborated with his father on several parodies and performed them together. Inspired by his literary success, Bedos wrote his first play, which was staged in Nice. This marked the beginning of his prolific theatrical career, with numerous plays written and directed by him.
Transition to Film
Bedos' entry into the film industry was as a screenwriter for the television movie "Pleasant Madness" (2009). His acting debut came a year later in "Illegal" (2010). In 2012, he starred in adaptations of Frédéric Beigbeder's "Love Lasts Three Years" and "Love on the Fingertips."
Directorial Debut and Critical Acclaim
Bedos' directorial debut was the romantic drama "He and She" (2017), in which he also played the male lead alongside his wife, Doria Tillier. The film earned two César Award nominations. His subsequent film, "Beautiful Epoch" (2019), premiered in Russia with critical success. The film follows a man who travels back in time to relive the day he met the love of his life.
