Early Career and Pair Skating Beginnings
Nicole Della Monica began her skating career in single skating, earning a bronze medal at the 2005 Italian National Championships. After a brief partnership with Yannik Kocon, resulting in two Italian championships, Della Monica considered retiring due to a chronic knee injury.
Partnership with Matteo Guarise and International Success
In 2011, Della Monica teamed up with Matteo Guarise. Their first international tournament together was the Bavarian Open, where they secured a technical minimum necessary for ISU championships. They excelled at the 2012 World Championships, placing 15th, and the 2013 European Championships, achieving 9th place.
National Champions and Continental Breakthrough
In December 2015, Della Monica and Guarise became Italian champions for the first time. They continued to improve at the European Championships in 2016, solidifying their status as leaders of the Italian team. They came close to the top 10 at the 2016 World Championships, a career highlight.
