Early Life and Activism

Oleg Naumov was born on December 17, 1953, in Orenburg, Russia. As a student at the Orenburg State Pedagogical Institute, where he earned a degree in history in 1978, he became a prominent Komsomol activist. However, his involvement in an anti-Soviet group led to his arrest.

Post-Soviet Career

After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Naumov embarked on a career in political analysis. He served as the director of the Center for Humanitarian Studies in Stavropol from 1995 to 1996, and the director of the Center for Analytical Research at the Fund for Supporting Legislative Initiatives from 1997 to 1998.

Entry into Politics

Naumov entered politics in 1995 when he unsuccessfully ran for the State Duma. In 1997, he joined the Democratic Choice of Russia party, serving as deputy chairman of its Moscow organization. In 1999, he was delegated by DCR to Boris Nemtsov's movement "Young Russia."

Leadership in Young Russia

From 1999 to 2000, Naumov served as the chairman of Young Russia's executive committee. He also held the position of vice president of Rolf Management from 1999 to 2000.

Election to the State Duma

On December 19, 1999, Naumov was elected to the State Duma as a member of the Union of Right-Wing Forces. He served as a member of the coordination council of the SPS.

Personal Life

Oleg Naumov is married and has two children.
