Early Life and Education
Olga Stefanishyna was born on October 29, 1985, in Odessa, Ukraine. In 2008, she graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in international law and English translation. Eight years later, she completed a finance and credit degree from Odesa National University.
Legal and Government Career
Stefanishyna's legal career began in 2006 with private practice. In late 2007, she joined the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. From 2007 to 2010, she worked in the department responsible for adapting the management of legal support for European integration.
Ministry of Justice
From 2010 to 2015, Stefanishyna served as deputy director and then director of the Department of International Law and the Department of European Integration within the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. Her responsibilities included coordinating cooperation with international organizations and implementing the European Union Association Agreement.
Government Office for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration
In March 2017, Stefanishyna became the director of the Government Office for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration within the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. This role involved coordinating Ukraine's integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures.
Vice Prime Minister
On June 4, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Olga Stefanishyna as Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. She concurrently holds the position of Minister of Justice of Ukraine, appointed on September 5, 2024.
Political Affiliations
Stefanishyna is a member of the political council of the Servant of the People party. She has also served as a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the National Council of Reforms.
Leadership Roles
Stefanishyna chairs several coordinating mechanisms within the Government of Ukraine, including the Commission on Coordination of Euro-Atlantic Integration, the Commission on Ensuring Equal Rights for Men and Women, and the working group for coordinating the implementation of green initiatives.
Personal Life
Olga Stefanishyna is the mother of two children, Anastasia and Daniil. She is currently in a civil relationship.
