Biography of Pavel Kozlovsky
Pavel Kozlovsky is a prominent military figure and former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus.
Early Life and Military Career
After completing his education, Pavel Kozlovsky enrolled in the Tashkent Higher Combined Arms Command School in 1961. He graduated from the academy in 1965 and went on to serve in various positions within the military, including company commander, regiment staff chief, regiment commander, division staff chief, and division commander. He served in Georgia, Armenia, and Russia throughout his career. Pavel Kozlovsky furthered his education by attending the M.V. Frunze Academy and the General Staff Academy.
Minister of Defense
In 1987, Pavel Kozlovsky was assigned to the Belarusian Military District as the deputy army commander. He later became the commander of the 28th Combined Arms Army and subsequently served as the chief of staff and first deputy commander of the Belarusian Military District. He was awarded the rank of major and lieutenant colonel ahead of schedule. On April 22, 1992, he was appointed as the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus.
Post-Retirement Activities
In 1994, after the rise to power of Alexander Lukashenko, Pavel Kozlovsky retired along with the government. He then dedicated himself to public and political activities and established the International Fund for the Rehabilitation of Former Servicemen, where he currently serves as president. He is a non-party member.
Personal Life
Pavel Kozlovsky is married to Natalia Grigorievna, an economist by profession. They have a daughter named Elena, who is married and has two sons named Andrey and Stanislav. Their son Andrey resides and works in Belarus and is married with two sons, Mikhail and Alexey. Their youngest son, Pavel, is currently in the 11th grade.
