Rafik Grigoryan

Born in 1958, Vardan Ghukasyan pursued his higher education at the Kyiv Agricultural Academy from 1984 to 1989. He obtained a degree in Economics and also holds a certification as a Mechanical Technician.
Professional Experience
Ghukasyan's career began in 1976, where he worked as a laborer for the Dzoragyugh Collective Farm. After completing his military service in the Soviet Army from 1977 to 1979, he held the position of Deputy General Director at the Cherkasy Scientific Research Institute of Seed Growing from 1982 to 1985 and 1989 to 1992.
From 1992 to 1996, Ghukasyan served as Director of LLC "Stroyitel" in Cherkasy, Ukraine. Upon his return to Armenia, he became the Head of Dzoragyugh Community in the Gegharkunik Province from 1996 to 1999. He subsequently served as Deputy Governor of the Gegharkunik Province from 1999 to 2003.
Political Career
Ghukasyan's political journey commenced in 2003 when he was elected as a member of the Armenian Parliament. He served as a member of the Standing Committee on Financial, Credit, Budgetary, and Economic Issues. In 2007, he was re-elected to Parliament and held the same position on the committee.
Gubernatorial Tenure
On July 23, 2012, Ghukasyan was appointed Governor of the Gegharkunik Province. During his tenure, he oversaw various developments and initiatives in the region.
