Early Life and Education
Born into a Jewish family who immigrated to Israel in 1982, Stas Misezhnikov completed his undergraduate studies in public and political science at Tel Aviv University in 1992. Eight years later, he obtained a master's degree in business administration and marketing from the same institution.
Political Career
Parliamentary Assistant and Municipal CouncillorMisezhnikov's political journey commenced in 1997, when he served as a parliamentary assistant in the Knesset. Concurrently, he held the position of marketing director at the Clalit health insurance fund from 1999 to 2006. He was also elected to the city council of Rishon LeZion, where he resided, serving from 2003 to 2006.
Member of the Knesset
In the 2006 Knesset elections, Misezhnikov placed 6th on the Yisrael Beiteinu party list. The party won 11 mandates, granting him a seat in parliament. Re-elected in 2009, he attained a higher placement of 3rd in the internal party vote. Subsequently, he was appointed Minister of Tourism in Binyamin Netanyahu's government.
Committee Involvement
Within the Knesset, Misezhnikov actively participated in the Finance Committee, the Economics Committee, the Special Committee on Foreign Workers, and the Joint Committee on Defense Budget.
Beliefs and Stances
New Generation of PoliticsMisezhnikov identifies as a "politician of a new generation," emphasizing his belief in a "new type of politics."
Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Misezhnikov asserts that it stems from cultural and national differences, rather than exclusively focusing on political issues. He notes that anti-Jewish violence occurred in Palestine before the establishment of Israel.
Personal Life
Misezhnikov currently resides in Rishon LeZion, is married, and has three children. He actively participates in the presidium of the Zionist Forum.
