Biography of Suleyman Yudakov
Suleyman (Solomon) Aleksandrovich Yudakov (1916, Kokand - 1990, Tashkent) was a Soviet composer. He was awarded the State Prize of the USSR and the State Prize of Uzbekistan. Suleyman Aleksandrovich Yudakov was one of the pioneers of new genres in national art, the creator of the first Uzbek comic opera "The Tricks of Mayzara" and the comedy-satirical ballet "The Youth of Nasreddin".
Early Life and Education
In 1929, Suleyman had the opportunity to seriously pursue music for the first time at the Kokand Children's Home. His first music teacher was Mikhail Genrikhovich Naigof. In 1932, Suleyman began his studies at the music department of the Moscow Conservatory, specializing in flute.
Career and Achievements
In 1939, he became a student at the composition faculty of the conservatory, studying under R.M. Glière. However, with the outbreak of war in 1941, Suleyman interrupted his studies and returned to Tashkent.
In 1944, he composed the melody of the anthem of the Tajik SSR, which later became the basis for the modern anthem of Tajikistan. In 1945, he wrote the musical drama "Son" ("Farzand").
After the war, in the second half of the 1940s, Suleyman created numerous works, including the "Eastern Poem" for violin and piano, "Fantasy for Violin, Cello, and Piano," and the "Dance Suite" for two pianos. The composition of the suite consists of three parts: "Khorezm Festive Procession," "Azerbaijani Lyrical Dance," and "Ferghana Dance."
Suleyman Yudakov was awarded the Orders of the Red Banner of Labor and the "Sign of Honor," as well as various medals.
